Oregon

We made it to Oregon! Here my father is on the beach by the wreck of the Peter Iredale, which crashed in 1906 just for miles south of where the Columbia River pours into the Pacific.
And in all our travels, we saw elk. Sorry, no pictures....

After a nine hour drive, we arrived at Rosary Hill Home, the headquarters of the Immaculate Conception Province of our dear Dominican Sisters who originally came to Justice, Illinois, to help the Polish immigrants to the Chicago area.  The Sisters who ten years ago opened their mission in Columbus, Ohio, when I was pastor at St. Patrick's, once made the long trip to visit my father in Margate, NJ.  We will join them for their annual picnic tomorrow after I celebrate Sunday Mass for them.
