In 1951, my father worked for the Bonneville Power Administration for five weeks before entering the Navy while the draft continued for the Korean War. Today he visited the dam for the first time in 72 years.
After a nine hour drive, we arrived at Rosary Hill Home, the headquarters of the Immaculate Conception Province of our dear Dominican Sisters who originally came to Justice, Illinois, to help the Polish immigrants to the Chicago area. The Sisters who ten years ago opened their mission in Columbus, Ohio, when I was pastor at St. Patrick's, once made the long trip to visit my father in Margate, NJ. We will join them for their annual picnic tomorrow after I celebrate Sunday Mass for them.
